During the trial operation, the production at the Donggi-6 well reached 17 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). Pertamina EP president director Syamsu Alam said in Jakarta last week the result of the trial operation at the Donggi-6 well was very encouraging. With such a progress, the company was quite optimistic that it would be well in commercial production by 2014, he added.
The development of the Donggi field is part of the development of the Matindo block which includes Donggi, Matindok, Maleoraja, and Minahaki fields. These fields are being developed to provide gas supply of up to 105 mmscfd for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) power plant which willl be built in the area. A part of the gas production will be also sold to PLN.
Pertamina EP expects to produce 1,106 mmscfd this year, up from 1,070 mmscfd in 2011 and 1,054 mmscfd in 2010. About 71 percent of gas production are sold to industrial users and state gas distributor PGN, 28.5 percent to PLN and the remainder to city gas distribution.
