State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina said that its Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) plant in Cilacap, Central Java, has started the maiden distribution of LPG for customers particularly in the province and neighboring Yogyakarta.

Kontan quoted General Manager of Pertamina Refinery Unit IV in Cilacap, Nyoman Sukadana as saying Saturday that the RFCC started production in early October.

The maiden distribution of LPG produced by the RFCC at a volume of 2,000 tons, marks the commercial operation of the plant, Nyoman said.

The RFCC has a capacity to produce 1,000 tons of LPG per day, allowing Pertamina to reduce import.

Aside from LPG, the RFCC plant also produces High Octance Mogas Component (HOMC) at about 37,500 barrels per day, and propylene at 430 tons per day. (*)
