Pertamina?s RFCC refinery to be completed in September, run full production in December

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said that construction of a Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) refinery unit in Cilacap, Central Java, is expected to be completed in September of this year, and to run at full production capacity by the end of the year.

?It will immediately run at full capacity in December. In September, it would already start production, although not at full capacity,? Amir Siagian, coordinator of the RFCC project, told Petromindo.com on Thursday.

He said that progress for the construction of the US$1.2 billion RFCC, being built by a consortium of state-owned construction firm PT Adhi Karya and South Korea?s Goldstar, has reached 55.78 percent of the targeted works. He added that construction work has been affected by the bad weather condition in Cilacap.

The Cilacap RFCC is expected to be able to increase premium gasoline production by 1.9 million kilo liters per year, LPG production by 352,000 tons per year, and will produce 142,000 tons of propylene per year.
