State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said that its fuel pipeline in Mandalawangi District, Subang Regency, West Java, has resumed operation following completion of repair work.
Pertamina Assistant Manager for External Relations Milla Suciyani said that trial operation proved there?s no more leaks at the pipeline, which caught fire August 28 following explosion believed to be triggered by illegal tapping activity. The pipeline is dedicated to transfer diesel oil from the Balongan refinery in West Java to the Plumpang station in North Jakarta.
?At 12.49 (PM), Pertamina resumed pumping diesel oil from Balongan to Plumpang. During the initial distribution, the flow rate was set at 380 kilo liters per hour, and will continue to be increased in line with requirement. The maximum flow rate of the route 1 pipeline can reach 1,500 kl per hour,? said Milla in a press statement Saturday.
During the repair work process of the pipeline, there had been no disturbance to the distribution of fuel to the Plumpang station because supply was also made via land transport and oil tanker. (*)
