Pertamina?s unit in N. Sumatra gas supply talks

PT. Pertagas, a gas distribution arm of state oil and gas firm PT.Pertamina, is in talks to buy gas from producers to meet gas demand in the province of North Sumatra, a company official said.

Operations Director Harjana Kodiyat said Pertagas is currently negotiating to buy gas from Glagah-Kambuna TAC offshore North Sumatra, which are jointly operated by Pertamina and Asia Petroleum Development Ltd. He said Pertagas is expecting to secure gas supply of 50MMCFD from Kambuna field, which PoD had been approved by the government. Production from the field is expected to commence second half of next year.

Haryana said Pertagas is also negotiating with Gebang JOB PSC to buy gas from Anggor and Secanggang gas fields, also in North Sumatra at the rate of 10 MMCFD. Gebang PSC interest is equally shared by Pertamina and Costa International, a subsidiary of JSX-listed oil, gas firm PT.Energi Mega Persada (EMP). He did not say when the gas would become onstream. According to EMP?s website, 2P gas reserves at Gebang is 5BCF and PoD for gas fields had been approved in 2005.

Haryana said gas from both blocks would be piped to meet gas demand in North Sumatra.(godang)
