?The cooperation will involve application of the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technology in Pendopo area, Talang Akar Pendopo field onshore South Sumatra,? said Pertamina EP's president director Salis Aprilian.
He said that it was the first EOR cooperation contract that had been signed by the firm. ?Since it is the first then the contract and its process might not be perfect. So, we may need to make some improvements later,? he said.
SPE?s president director Karsan said that the cooperation was a challenge for his company to prove its capability, adding that cooperating with Pertamina was always the desire of every firm. ?Based on Santika?s survey, the Talang Akar Pendopo still has a big potential to increase production,? he said.
Initially, the field had a total reserve of up to 840 million barrels and Stanvac and then Pertamina have produced a total of about 350 million barrels so far. ?That means the field still has a reserve of 490 million barrels. It?s still a big amount,? said Karsan.
He said that the contract SPE got from Pertamina is valid for 15 years. (bernard)
