A senior official of state oil and gas company Pertamina said the operations of American oil and gas firm ExxonMobil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer PT Arun NGL Co in Lhoksemawe, Aceh continued normally despite floods, which have been crippling the province for several days.
Pertamina's processing director Ariffi Nawawi said on Monday that the flood did not affect the operations of both companies because their operational sites were situated on higher grounds.
"The operational sites are now being used as shelters for the victims of the flood," Ariffi said.
The flood, which was caused by heavy rainfall over the past several days, have been crippling lives in the province and disrupted telecommunications in and out of the province capital of Banda Aceh and business town Lhokseumawe. (Alex)
