State oil and Gas Company PT. Pertamina plans to develop a small LNG plant with capacity of 2MTPA at its Central Sulawesi gas block, teamed up with Medco Energi, co venturer at the block.

"Gas will be enough for one LNG plant. We see no problem in finding a market," Pertamina vice-president director told reporters Monday without giving details.

Pertamina has 50 percent interest in Senoro-Toili Block, with Medco holding the remaining balance. Pertamina also operates nearby gas block, where the company has 100 percent interest.

Medco has already planned to build 800,000 tons per annum mini-LNG plan in Senoro-Toili.

Earlier, Pertamina exploration and production director Hari Kustoro said that prove-up drillings program was needed to increase the two block?s gas reserves to reach 3 at least TCF to justify development of an LNG plant. (godang)
