State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina is seeking for 3 million tons per annum of LNG supply starting 2016 to meet the requirements of four LNG terminals.

Pertamina Gas Director Hari Karyuliarto said on Tuesday that the company would prioritize domestic sources to supply the gas, while opening the possibility for imports.

The company has said recently that it was seeking for LNG imports from producers in the US and Africa.

The four LNG terminals which are expected to start operation in 2016 include the floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in Jakarta, Semarang, and Cilacap, and the Aceh LNG plant.

Hari said that the infrastructure facilities are crucial to help meet growing domestic gas demand, which is projected to growth at about 6 percent per annum, to reach 8,000 mmscfd in the next 10 years. (*)
