Pertamina seeks spot LPG cargoes as ConocoPhillips stops supply

State oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) is buying additional 40,000 tonnes of LPG per month from spot market starting November after supply from ConocoPhillips-operated Belanak field in South Natuna Sea Block B was halted.

Spokesperson M. Harun told reporters over the week-end that ConocoPhillips last shipment of LPG to Pertamina was in October. ?Pertamina is importing LPG from spot market to make up for supply stoppage from ConocoPhillips,? he said. Pertamina is offtaking the entire LPG production from Belanak.

ConocoPhillips halted LPG production Belanak after a catenary anchor leg mooring buoy sank late last month.

?Repair is underway, but on worst-case scenario, LPG production would not resume in six months,? Elan Biantoro, Spokesperson of upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS told Petromindo.com on Thursday. (godang)
