Pertamina seeks to charter more vessels from local firms

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is inviting Indonesian national shipping companies to participate in the provision of vessels through time charter, contract affreightment, or voyage charter methods.

Pertamina said in a tender announcement seen on Monday that it was looking to charter various types of vessels including crude oil tanker, clean petroleum product tanker, asphalt tanker, lube base oil tanker, LPG tanker, tug & oil barge (capable to carry oil with flash point below 60 degrees Celsius), harbor tug (assist tug), and towing tug.

It said that the entire vessels must meet the Pertamina Safety Approval (PSA) requirement.
