Pertamina sells all its gas domestically

PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said on Friday it sold all its gas production on the domestic market, mostly for power plants, fertilizer producers, and industrial customers.

The firm now produces 1,025.47 mmscfd of gas, 91.68 percent or 940.17 mmscfd of which is supplied to state owned firms such as electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), fertilizer firms PT Pupuk Sriwijaya and PT Pupuk Kujang and gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), which subsequently distributes it to its industrial customers, PEP?s Public Relation Manager Muhammad Baron said.

The amount of gas supplied to private gas traders is relatively small, he said, adding that the supply to the private traders is carried out in line with the existing regulation, Baron said.

Besides, the firm also supplies gas to the city gas networks. As of end-2014, a total of 89,464 gas connections to households had been built across the country, up from 72,511 connections as of end-2013, he said.
