Pertamina set to operate a new own ship soon

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is set to get a boost in its oil fuel distribution capacity by the planned operation of its newest vessel in September.
The Matindok vessel, with 3,500 long ton deadweight (ltdw), will be the 48th vessel wholly owned by Pertamina. It currently operates a total of 174 vessels. It leases the remaining.
The ship will serve distribution routes linking Ternate, Kupang, Plaju and Padang to areas in East Nusa Tenggara such as Reo, Maumere, Waingapu, Kalabahi, Ende and in Kalimantan such as Pontianak, as well as Bengkulu in Sumatra.
Pertamina plans to continue to strengthen its armada. By 2013, it has targeted to have 64 wholly owned vessels.
Matindok, developed since May 2010, cost Pertamina around US$12 million.
