Pertamina, Shell lower prices for non-subsidized fuels

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina and Shell Indonesia have lowered the prices of non-subsidized fuels by between Rp 200 and Rp 300 per liter for industries as an adjustment to the drop in crude oil prices in international market.

Beginning Friday, Pertamina cut down the price of its high octane Pertamax Plus by Rp 200 to Rp 6,300 per liter. The prices of Pertamax and Bio Pertamax were also lowered by Rp 300 to Rp 5,600 per liter. However, the price of Pertamax Dex remains at Rp 7,900 per liter.

Pertamina's spokesman Basuki Trikora Putra said in Jakarta on Friday that the cut in prices were made as an adjustment to the slight drop in crude oil prices in the world. The company reviews prices of its high octane fuels every two months in line with changes in the price index of Mean of Platt Singapore (MOPS).

Shell Indonesia also lowered the price of its high octane Shell Super by Rp 200 to Rp Rp5,500.
