Pertamina signs gas contracts for transportation

The six oil and gas contractors are PT Pertamina EP, which signed four agreements; PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO); PT Medco E&P Indonesia; Santos (Madura Offshore) Pty. Ltd and JOB Pertamina-Talisman Jambi Merang.
The six contractors will deliver gas to Pertamina (Persero) which later convert it into compressed natural gas (CNG) for use as fuel in the transportation sector, including Transjakarta busline, upstream authority SKK Migas said in a statement.
?The nine gas agreements cover a total volume of 30 mmscfd. We hope it will support the government?s program of conversion from oil fuels to gas,? said Agus Budiyanto, head of communication and protocol sub-section at SKK Migas.
Of the total volume, 10.2 mmscfd will be allocated for East Java, 14.1 mmscfd for Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), South Sumatra (1.35 mmscfd) and Central Sumatra (2 mmscfd) and Jambi (2 mmscfd).
The agreements are expected to generate US$184.87 in revenue for the government. With gas price at Rp 3,100 per liter, the use of total gas covered by the agreements will result in savings amounting to Rp 2.15 trillion if compared to the use of subsidized diesel oil, and savings amounting to Rp 7.8 trillion if compared to the use of non-subsidized gas, SKK Migas said.
