PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three potential partners to develop its geothermal working areas.
One of the potential partners is Chevron Geothermal, President Director Ardiansyah said on Friday.
?Negotiations (with the three potential partners) are now in progress. God?s willing, contracts can be signed by the end of this year,? Ardiansyah said.
PGE holds the largest number of geothermal working areas in Indonesia, many of which are however left idle. This has sparked criticism that the firm should ask other companies to develop the working areas.
Ardiansyah did not specify the working areas that are offered to the potential partners, but he said the firm is looking for partners who are well-funded, have technology and experience in the geothermal sector.
