Pertamina signs MoUs with Chinese firms

State oil and gas firm Pertamina said it had signed a number of MoUs in upstream sector with Chinese companies.

Upstream director Bambang Nugroho told reporters over the week-end that it had signed MoU with Sinocheer to develop Gundih gas block in East Java and Pondok Tengah gas block in Bekasi, West Java. Bambang said Sinocheer is committed to invest up to US$ 300 million to develop the blocks.

Another MoU with Sinopec to develop geothermal sector and IT was also signed, together with MoU with Sichuan Deyang International Economic and Technological Cooperation to jointly develop Pertamina?s marginal gas fields. Sichuan deyang, said Bambang is also committed to spend US$35 million to finance explorations in Pertamina?s working areas. (godang)
