State owned oil and gas company Pertamina will start this week exploration activities at the company?s oil field in Bekasi, West Java as part of its program to increase oil production from the area, Koran Tempo reported on Monday.
The company has prepared hundreds of "explosion points?: in Babelan, Tarumajaya and Sukawangi districts as part of the exploration works, which will be begun this week, the head of the Babelan district, Jamaluddin, said last week.
According to him, the dynamites which will be used in the exploration activities, have been planted at 30 meter-depth and are connected with a vibration recorder. "From that we will see whether the area has oil reserves or not," he added. (*)
