State oil, gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) said it is prioritizing worker safety and strengthening operational risk mitigation as geopolitical tensions escalate in the Middle East, while maintaining national energy supply stability.
The state energy company said it is coordinating with Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry, embassies and consulates, as well as local authorities, to ensure the safety of personnel and continuity of operations linked to the region.
Pertamina identified three business units directly exposed to developments in the Middle East: PT Pertamina International Shipping’s non captive fleet involved in global energy transport, Pertamina Internasional EP which operates upstream assets in Basra, Iraq, and Pertamina Patra Niaga in crude and fuel procurement from Middle Eastern sources.
