The paper quoted Pertamina Gas Director Hari Karyuliarto as saying that the company has actually already have a number of off taker candidates, including industries and independent power producers, but they are all what he described as ?not feasible.?
Securing buyers for the gas is crucial for the company to resume the construction of the FSRU in Central Java. The company earlier planned to allocate the gas for the Tambak Lorok power plant in Semarang, but the plant later obtained gas from the Gundih field operated by PT Pertamina EP, and Kepodang field operated by Petronas Carigali.
Hari is hopeful that the company would finally get the gas off takers so that it could resume construction of the FRSU, which will have a capacity of 3 million tons per year or 400 mmscfd, with an outlook it could be completed in 2016, a delay from the initial schedule of 2014.
The Central Java FSRU is expected to obtain LNG (to be processed into gas) from the Muara Bakau block and the Indonesia Deepwater Development Project. Extra LNG supply will later come from the Tangguh LNG refinery in Papua. (*)
