With the Mauhau, Pertamina has increased its own shipping fleet to a total 185 which are operated to secure the energy supply at domestic market. The Mauhau tanker ship will start operation next week to distribute oil fuels, the company announced on Thursday.
The contract to build the Mauhau tanker ship was signed on 26th August 2010 and entered a stage of commissioning in early December 2012. It needs a total investment of about US$11.8 million.
?It is part of Pertamina?s commitment to support the national cabotage system in order to develop the Indonesian shipping industry,? Pertamina Vice President for Corporate Communication, Ali Mundakir said.
He said that the development of its shipping fleet will also improve the company's efficiency, which in turn improves its performance.
