Pertamina strikes another oil in South Sumatra

State oil and gas company Pertamina said Thursday it had discovered another oil, gas reserves in its South Sumatra operations.

?Pandan exploration well flows 380 barrels of oil and 3.5 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas,? said acting upstream director Eteng A. Salam.

Eteng did not disclose the depth of the well drilled or the thickness of oil and gas layer. Eteng said delineation well would be drilled this year to evaluate the discovery's potential.

Late last year, Pertamina also discovered oil and gas in Gunung Kemala prospect in South Sumatra, which Pertamina estimated to contain some 230 million barrels in oil reserve. (alex)
