Pertamina strikes gas in East Java

PT Pertamina EP, an upstream subsidiary of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) has made discovery in its working area in Cepu, East Java.

President Director Salis Aprilian told Petromindo.Com that the Tiung Biru exploration well flowed 15 MMCFD of gas during test.

He did not give further detail.

Salis said delineation well will be drilled on the discovery mid-2010.

The well is located near Jambaran gas field which is located in Cepu giant oil, gas block which is jointly operated by US super major Exxon Mobil Corp. and Pertamina.

Salis said Tiung Biru will be jointly developed with Jambaran under unitization scheme. (bernard)
