State owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina may export kerosene to reduce the oversupply to be resulted from the introduction of the government's program to replace the use of highly subsidized kerosene with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in some parts of the country.

"Based on Pertamina's estimate, the program to replace the kerosene with LPG would result in an oversupply of up to 273,760 kiloliters a year," Pertamina's deputy for commercial and marketing Djaelani Sutomo said Friday.

Djaelani said Pertamina is currently studying the possibility to export the oversupply of kerosene. ?We will ask the government to allow Pertamina to export the oversupply,? he added. (godang)
