Pertamina supplies HSD to Freeport

PT Pertamina and PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) signed on Monday a letter of intent (LoI) on sale and purchase of high speed diesel (HSD) to be used by the latter for its copper mining operations in Timika regency of Papua.

Pertamina Vice President for Corporate Communication Ali Mundakir said that through the LoI, which was signed by Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan and PTFI President Director Rozik B. Soetjipto in Jakarta on Monday, Pertamina will supply the HSD need of Freeport at 21.000 kiloliter per month.

PTFI, Indonesia?s largest gold producer operating in Timika of Papua, needs a total of 36,000 kiloliters of HSD per month.

"We feel proud of becoming the partner of PTFI in supplying the HSD. It is also a good momentum for the two companies to further strengthen their partnerships in the future,? he said.

According to the LoI, Pertamina?s supply of HSD to PTFI will be implemented for one year with an option to get twice extensions each for one year based on the evaluation of performance.

Besides the HSD, currently Pertamina has also supplied PTFI with Avtur.
