Pertamina, Sydney Gas in CBM exploration pact

Pertamina EP. An upstream unit of state oil, gas company PT.Pertamina said on Wednesday it would set up a JV with Australian firm Sydney Gas Ltd. to explore for coal-bed methane (CBM) in South Sumatra.

Pertamina EP CEO Tri Siwindono said the JV would explore for CBM at Pertamina?s oil, gas working area and the JV would be set once it was granted exploration license from the government.

Apart from Sydney Gas, Pertamina is also in the process of setting up similar JV with Royal Dutch Shell to explore for CBM in Jambi and other part of South Sumatra, he said. (godang)
