Pertamina takes over Ramba field operations

PT Pertamina EP, a unit of state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) that deals with onshore domestic upstream assets, announced that it has taken over operation of Ramba field onshore South Sumatra since October 16, 2010.

The company said that the block?s contract, which was previously leased to Elnusa Tristar Ramba under the so called Technical Assistance Contract (TAC) arrangement, expired on October 15, 2010.

As per October 2010, the block produced 3,424 barrels of oil per day and 15.8 MMCFD of gas. Pertamina EP President Salis Aprilian said that the company is planning to increase production from the block.

Previously, Pertamina EP has also taken over operations of Limau field onshore South Sumatra, which TAC lease has also expired and managed to increase production to 12,000 BOPD in 2009 from 6,000 BOPD in 2007.

Pertamina EP?s production has reached 130,000 BOPD and 1,050 MMCFD in the fisrt half of 2010, putting the company as the country?s second biggest oil, gas producer. (godang)
