State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has targeted to sell its gas products, Vi-Gas and Envogas, at 2.5 million kiloliter of gasoline premium equivalent in the next five years.

Pertamina?s Marketing Director Ahmad Bambang said in a press release on Monday that the target will be supported with the development of integrated refueling stations of Vi-Gas and Envogas.

Speaking during the inauguration of the 16th Vigas refueling stations in Bandung on Monday, he said that the new refueling station has a storing capacity of 6 tons or at the equivalent of 11,800 liter premium gasoline.

He stated that Pertamina was very serious in its efforts to increase the use of gas, in the forms of liquefied natural gas (LNG), CNG branded as Envogas, and LGV (liquefied gas for vehicle) branded as Vi-Gas, as an effort to decrease the consumption of oil fuels (BBM).

?Currently, the consumption of Vi-Gas and Envogas has only reached up to 0.1% of the total consumption of subsidized BBM. But in the next five years, the consumption will reach about 2.5 million kiloliter of gasoline equivalent,? he said.

He based his optimism on its investment programs to develop around 150 units of integrated refueling stations of Vi-Gas and Envogas.

Ahmad said that Vi-Gas consumption had increased at the average of 40 percent per year from the initial 189 kiloliter to 913 kiloliter in 2013. ?Considering the trend, supply availability, and technologidal development, and design devepment, we?re optimistic the general public will be more receptive to the Vi-Gas as the alternative for BBM,? he said.

Pertamina has now operated 12 refueling stations (SPB) of Vi-Gas in Jakarta, and 3 SPB of Vi-Gas in Bali. The development of Vi-gas products and Vi-gas refueling stations in Western Java was aimed to support the government?s policy of converting the use of BBM to the use of gas.

Pertamina has previously built other SPB Vi-Gas in several other cities, including Semarang, and Yogyakarta.
