Pertamina to add 11 vessels

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will add 11 new vessels through 2017 with total investment estimated at US$300 million.

The company said in a statement Friday the new vessels will expand the fleet of its owned vessels to 72.

Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina Wianda Pusponegoro said three medium-range vessels each of 40,000 DWT namely MT Sanggau, MT Serui, and MT Sanana are set to be delivered in the first quarter of 2016 by New Times Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. Investment for the three totals $100 million.

Eight general purpose vessels will be delivered through 2017 with capacity of 17,500 DWT, and total investments of $200 million, by three national shipyards including PT. Anggrek Hitam Shipyard, Batam (to deliver MT Parigi and MT Pattimura), PT. Daya Radar Utama, Lamongan (MT Paderman, MT Papandayan, and MTPutri), and PT. Multi Ocean Shipyard, Karimun (MTPasaman and MT Pangrango).
