State owned oil and gas company Pertamina expects to increase crude oil and gas production at its oil fields in Aceh province to respectively 4,600 barrels per day and 82 million standard cubic feet per day this year, Koran Tempo reported on Wednesday.

Pertamina's general manager for Aceh operation, Ridwan Nyak Baik, said on Tuesday that he was optimistic that the projected increase in the oil and gas production could be met although most of the existing oil wells comprised of old wells.

Last year, Pertamina produced about 3,900 barrels per day and 78 million standard cubic feet per day in the province. The province's oil and gas production is about 10 percent of the company's total output.(*)
