Pertamina to build 200 LPG filling stations

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina plans to build 200 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) filling stations in the country, including 150 units in Java, Investor Daily reported on Tuesday.

 

The company’s President Director Ari H. Soemarno said in Jakarta on Monday that Pertamina is building LPG filling stations eastern Jakarta to replace facilities in Tanjung Priok.

 

Pertamina also would prepare a floating storage on Tanjung Priok waters while waiting from the completion of an onshore LPG storage, he said.

 

“Besides, we also prepare to build LPG storages in Tanjung Sari (East Java) and Cilacap (Central Java). This is important to bring the koresene-to-LPG conversion program into success,” Ari said, adding that Pertamina would build the LPG stroages with private sector.

 

He explained that most of the LPG storages would be built by private companies with Pertamina as the leases. (*)
