State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) is developing new gas distribution network for a total of 67,000 households in a number of cities this year.
"We managed to build gas network in four cities (Prabumulih, Jambi, Sengkang, Sidoarjo) rapidly last year. This year, we (plan) to build additional gas network in Bulungan, Bekasi, Sidoarjo, Ogan Hilir, Subang, Lhokseumawe, and Bontang, totaling 27,000 household connections," Spokesperson of Pertamina Wianda Puspanegoro said in Jakarta.
She said, two gas networks, namely in Bulungan and Bekasi regencies, were already operating in the first quarter of 2016.
According to Wianda, the gas comes from Pertamina EP, JOB Pertamina-Talisman, Energy Equity Epic, Lapindo, and Total EP, with an average of 0.2 mmscfd per 4,000 connections.
In addition, Pertamina also gets an assignment from the government according to the 2016 state budget to build city gas network with a total of 40,000 household connections, namely in Prabumulih (32.250 connections), Balikpapan (4,000 connections), and Cilegon (4,000 connections), Wianda added.
