Wednesday, January 28 2004 - 08:43 AM WIB

Officials of state oil and gas firm Pertamina will soon meet with leaders of Japan?s Marubeni Corporation and Philippines National Oil company to further discuss their plan of building geothermal power projects in Indonesia, a Pertamina official told Petromindo.Com Wednesday.

?We will meet in the near future to negotiate on the power projects,? said Pertamina?s upstream director Bambang Nugroho.

Bambang did not mention the exact date, however.

Pertamina and the foreign investors signed a memorandum of understanding on the power projects last month in Japan. The projects were planned to be located in Ulu Belu, Lampung; Lumutbalai, South Sumatra; and Lahendong, North Sulawesi.

During the planned meeting, the Japanese and Philippine firms were expected to disclose the amount of funds they were ready to invest in the projects, he said. (godang)
