Pertamina to cooperate with Belarusneft in EOR technology

Indonesia?s state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is expected to be able to cooperate with Belarusneft, an oil and gas firm from Belarus, in implementing enhance oil recovery (EOR) technology at the former?s oil fields to help lift production.

This was said by Director General of Oil and Gas A. Edy Hermantoro in a statement issued following the signing of an MoU on oil and gas cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus in Jakarta on Wednesday. Edy said it was the first oil and gas meeting between the two countries.

Edy said that EOR technology can help increase oil production in the country particularly amid new reserve findings. ?Based on data, Indonesia is quite potential to implement EOR. Currently, EOR has been applied at Duri, Minas, Kaji, Tanjung, Widuri and Limau fields,? he said.

?Belarus is known for its successful EOR technology. We?re confident that Belarus can contribute in increase oil production in Indonesia,? he added.
