PT Pertamina Retail plans to develop a total of 1,000 mini gasoline stations this year in villages in Java.
President Director of Pertamina Retail, Sofyan Yusuf said on Monday that development of mini fuel stations, under the brand name of Pertashop, is quite effective to help meet fuel demand in the villages as developing regular size gasoline stations is quite costly.
He said that while the Pertashop stations will be initially developed in Java, it would be expanded to other villages across the country.
Sofyan said that the price of fuel prices at Pertashop will be higher than the price at regular gasoline stations but will be lower than the price at other kiosks in the villages.
Aside from selling fuel oil products, Pertamina Retail is also engaged in the retailing of other Pertamina products such as LPG and lubricants.
Sofyan said that Pertamina Retail will also expand its LPG retail business going forward, aiming to become an LPG agent across the country and plays price stabilizer role.
Pertamina Retail currently operates around 200 regular gasoline stations including 154 company owned company operated (COCO) fuel stations, and the remainder company owned dealer operated (COCO) stations.
