Pertamina to dissolve Petral this year

State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina said it will shut down Pertamina Energy Trading Limited (Petral), a Singapore-based subsidiary mostly engaged in oil and gas brokering, this year.

Pertamina President Director Dwi Soetjipto said Petral's role in the import of oil and fuel products will be taken over by Pertamina's new integrated supply chain unit.

Critics had previously pointed to the lack of transparency and good governance in Petral and called on the government to close the company.(*)
