Pertamina to distribute high octane fuel across the nation

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it will make available higher-octane fuel across the nation, including in remote areas.
So far high octane fuel is only available in cities and main islands. The decision indicates that Pertamina will gradually scrap the lowest-octane Premium fuel brand.
The decision is made possible following the revision of Presidential Regulation Number 191 of 2014 on Premium fuel.

The revision of the ruling enables Pertamina to replace the Premium fuel with higher octane fuel such as the Pertalite fuel brand, Pertamina announced.
At present, Premium fuel is sold at Rp6,450 per liter, while Pertalite is sold at Rp7,650 per liter.
Director for Fuel of downstream authority BPH Migas Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak was quoted by Investor Daily as saying that the revision of the ruling means that the Indonesian people across the nation can enjoy more environmentally friendly fuel in 2022. He expects one-price policy fuel will be available in 321 locations next year.
