PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), an upstream arm of state oil and gas company Pertamina said it would drill two exploration wells in its Libyan concessions next year.

?Preparations are underway as we have completed 3-D seismic on the prospects,? Director for International Business Affairs Dwi Martono said on Monday.

PHE has two exploration blocks in Libya, namely Sabrata 17-3 offshore block and Sirte 123-3 onshore block.

Dwi also said that PHE will renegotiate terms and condition for an exploration block in Iraq in October this year. ?We?ll renegotiate with Iraqi government and we?ll see if we?ll like the new terms and conditions they offer then we?ll ratify,? he said.

Pertamina was awarded Western Desert Block 3 during Saddam Hussein era but the new Iraqi government wanted to review all oil, gas contracts given during the dictator?s rule. (bernard)
