Pertamina to end joint research work with Caltex

The state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina may not extend its research cooperation work in the West Jambi oil, gas block with Chevron Texaco Indonesian unit PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, according to Pertamina upstream director Iin Arifin Takhyan.

The one-year cooperation work will expire this month. But Iin did not provide reason why Pertamina declined to extend the joint research work.

However, a source said that the termination of the joint research would be made because of differences between Pertamina and Caltex in deciding the amount of gas reserves in the area.(Godang)
