Pertamina to establish power unit

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) plans to establish a new subsidiary, PT Pertamina Power, as it plans to take some of the power projects included in the government?s 35,000 MW program.
The subsidiary will be placed under the new renewable energy directorate led by Yenni Handayani.
The subsidiary will take part in the tender for the independent power producer (IPP) contracts to build Jawa-1, Jawa Bali 3 power projects, according to a source.
While the firm is still in the establishment process, it is now preparing bid documents for the projects, the source said, adding that the bid documents are supposed to be submitted in May.
?The establishment of the new subsidiary has been proposed to the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners for approval,? the source said.
