Pertamina to export excess jet fuel production

Acting Chief of Integrated Supply Chain Rusnaedy said Pertamina is seeking to export 100,000-200,000 barrels of jet fuel per month as its refineries currently produce 1.5-16 million barrels per month while consumption only stand at 1.3-14 million barrel per month.
Rusnedy said excess jet fuel production was due to success of government-sponsored conversion of kerosene consumption to LPG program. Excess kerosene production, he said, was turned into jet fuel production.
Pertamina has stopped importing jet fuel since March this year, he said, adding that previously Pertamina imported some 300,000 barrels of jet fuel each month.
?Pertamina is targeting to export excess jet fuel production to Asian countries such as Malaysia, China and Thailand. We hope to be able to start exporting in June,? he said.
Pertamina, he said, is currently trying to get approval from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of trade to export jet fuel.(bernard)
