Pertamina to export kerosene

Thursday, August 30 2007 - 02:29 AM WIB

State oil and gas company Pertamina will export kerosene in the middle of 2008 when the domestic production is predicted to surpass consumption, Neraca Daily reported on Thursday.

Pertamina's Deputy for Marketing and Commercial Director Hanung Budya said in Jakarta on Wednesday that his company now imports 600,000 barrels of kerosene per month.

"The prospective market for export is China," he said.

Kerosene production from Pertamina’s plants would be in surplus if the government's program to urge the public to use LPG rather than kerosene is successful, he said. (*)
