Pertamina to export kerosene

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is seeking to export some of its kerosene production following a drop in the domestic consumption as result of the kerosene-to-LPG conversion program.
As of July 4 this year, the firm has 627,506 kiloliters in stocks, which is enough for 47.2 days of domestic consumption. Normally, the firm holds a stock enough for 25 days of consumption.
?We are looking for markets to export the fuel and asking for an approval for export from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas,? Pertamina?s Director of Marketing and Commerce Achmad Faisal was quoted by Kontan as saying on Monday.
According to Achmad, the national consumption of kerosene stands at 15,000 kl per day, compared with between 23,000 kl and 26,000 kl before the government launched the program to push households to use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rather than kerosene. (*)
