State owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina along with its South Korean partner SK Energy, is set to export lube to Pakistan. Achmad Faisal, Pertamina's Director of Marketing and Commerce, said on Monday that the lube carrying the brand "Jipex" would be launched in the second week of August in the South Asian country.

Pertamina and its "co-branding" partner SK Energy expected to export 12 containers or 168 kiloliter of lube to the country per month.

"We target to export a total of 150 containers of lube to the country this year," Achmad said. The lube, which will be produced at the Cilacap refinery in Central Java, is similar to local brand Prima XP in terms of quality.

Pertamina and SK Energy target to supply 10 percent or 38,000 kiloliters of Pakistan's fuel demand by 2012. They will compete with Shell and Castrol which have been supplying lube to the country.

Achmad said Pertamina together with SK Energy was also considering to exporting the lube to Vietnam and Russia. (Godang/Bernard)
