Pertamina to increase gasoline imports in Sept

State-owned oil, gas firm PT Pertamina will boost gasoline imports by 67 percent next month to meet higher demand during the fasting month and Idul Fitri holiday.

The company will import 5 million barrels of gasoline in September, Pertamina?s deputy director of marketing Hanung Budya said in Jakarta on Friday. Pertamina usually imports 3 million barrels of petrol each month.

The company will import 5.4 million barrels of diesel next month, he added.

Pertamina will also increase gasoline imports as the Balongan refinery in West Java will shut down for maintenance in October, he said. (godang)
