State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will invite refinery operators in the Asia Pacific region to participate in an upcoming tender for crude oil processing services, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.
The paper quoted Senior Vice President of Pertamina?s Integrated Supply Chain, Daniel Purba as saying that the previous contract of processing 1 million barrels of crude oil per month for the period of July-December 2016 has expired.
He said that Pertamina was seeking to have a processing deal with one of the refineries in the Asia Pacific region, excluding Shell, which won the aforementioned previous contract.
Daniel said February 18 that Pertamina plans to lease an overseas refinery again to process a total of seven million barrels of crude from Iraq into various fuel products this year. He said at the time the company was in talks with Iraq?s State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) over the crude supply. He said that once talks with SOMO have been concluded, Pertamina will hold tender to select the overseas refinery that would process the crude. (*)
