State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina plans to lease overseas refinery again to process a total of seven million barrels of crude into various fuel products this year, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday
The paper quoted Daniel Purba, Senior Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain of Pertamina, as saying that the company is still in talks with Iraq?s State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) over the crude supply.
He said that once talks with SOMO have been concluded, Pertamina will hold tender to select the overseas refinery that would process the crude.
Last year, Pertamina leased a fuel refinery in Singapore from Shell under a crude processing deal of 1 million barrels per month starting July until December 2016. ?The target this year is to process 7 million barrels,? Daniel told the paper.
?We hope to be able to quickly get confirmation (from SOMO) over the Iraq crude supply so that tender for the crude processing deal can be implemented,? he added. (*)
