State oil and gas company Pertamina will meet again with Malaysian state oil and gas company Petronas to further talk on the sales of gas from Sumatra and the West Natuna area in the South China Sea, a Pertamina official said on Monday.

The meeting will take place on September 3 in Kuala Lumpur, Trijana Kartoatmodjo, Pertamina?s expert staff for gas sales negotiation, told Petromindo.Com via telephone.

He said the sticking issue to be solved by both parties during the meeting was the price for the gas.

?Indonesia has set the price for the gas at US$3.69 per million British thermal unit (MMBTU) but Malaysia has asked for a lower price,? Trijana said, but he refused to disclose the price being offered by Petronas.

Pertamina is seeking to sell gas to Malaysia from the fields operated by British firm Premier Oil Plc in the West Natuna area and the fields operated by Canadian firm Gulf Indonesia Resources, Australian firm Santos, Pertamina and Spanish-Argentinean firm Repsol-YPF in South and Central Sumatra.
