Pertamina to offer Pondok Tengah gas to PLN

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will offer additional gas from its Pondok Tengah field in Bekasi, West Java to state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

Pertamina will double Pondok Tengah gas output to 40 MMSCFD at the end of this year, Pertamina's Upstream Director Sukusen Soemarinda said on Friday.

"The production surplus may be allocated for PLN?s combined-cycled Muara Tawar power plant. However, no talks have been planned on the matter,? He said.

Currently the gas field is producing 20 MMSCFD of gas which is supplied to fertilizer firm Pupuk Kujang in Cikampek, West Java, he said.(Godang/Bernard)
