“We will build several (emergency) gasoline stations along the Pantura route to prevent heavy traffic jams,” Pertamina’s president director Widya Utama said.
A heavy traffic jam often takes place along the Pantura route, the main traffic route linking major cities in Java, ahead of the Indul Fitri holiday during which hundreds of thousands from Jakarta and other cities in the country visit their home towns to celebrate the Idul Fitri with their families and relatives. The heaviest traffic generally occurs two days before and after the annual festivities.
Widya also told reporters that the level of national fuel stock continued to imrpove since the government raised the fuel prices early this month. According to him, the present level of the fuel stocks has reached 21.7 days of consumption. (dino)
